I have several projects in the pipeline right now. This is one that I am pretty damn excited about. The story goes as follows:
My somewhat good friend Phil unplugged from the deferred lifestyle several years ago and began to develop villas in Central America, specifically Bocas del Toro, Panama. He has managed to build several waterfront villas on the bay side of Isla Colon, which happens to be a very active vacation spot and fertile area for development. He’s a smart guy but honestly I think he’s quite clumsy in terms of grasping the importance of social media.
This is where I come in — reconnect Phil with the fast paced world of technology and the social web.
First off, his website bocasvillas.com was created by someone with zero SEO knowledge, (something to play to my advantage). Second, I don’t want to get paid a flat rate for consulting and web design. Freelance is non-scaling garbage, at least in my case because I’m not mind-blowing nor spectacular. Just look below at some of my previous work. My goals for this project are commission based recurring income, and this is only the tip of the iceberg (more on that later).
What I have done thus far is created a separate website that is highly optimized and very simple: Bocas del Toro Vacation Rentals I made the domain name my target keyword, optimized the title, added ALT tags to images, and wrote keyword rich copy. I could go on and on about the SEO techniques I have utilized for this very simple website.
Now we wait for rankings… and of course use social media actively and naturally (no spam or auto twitter crap!). This project is ongoing and I have so many other ideas for it, like I said, tip of the iceberg.
